Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at advocateurology@pm.me if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Dr. Gonzalez is currently not practicing urology in a traditional office setting. As a locum tenens doctor, he is subcontracted by hospitals and healthcare facilities directly to provide temporary urology services, including acute care and emergency surgery, when there is a shortage of hospital urologists. Therefore, Dr. Gonzalez's care is limited to a patient's hospitalization and patients are encouraged to establish with their own urologist for follow-up and outpatient care.

Dr. Gonzalez recommends establishing with an outpatient urologist in your local community. Please discuss this with your primary care physician or health insurance provider. You can also search the American Urological Association's directory at urologyhealth.org to find a urologist near you.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

Locum tenens is a Latin phrase meaning "to hold the place of." In medicine, it refers to physicians who provide temporary services for healthcare facilities during periods of physician shortage, recruitment or leave coverage. Dr. Gonzalez provides temporary services for facilities who are actively recruiting a permanent urologist or who need interim coverage.
